Calls go straight to voicemail, phone doesn’t ring

I recently switched from Carolina West Wireless to Verizon and after the headache of switching providers I was not able to receive any calls. I could text and I could make calls, but anyone who tried to call me was sent straight to voicemail. It wouldn’t ring at all and it doesn’t show a missed call or voicemail if they left one. We got it fixed to the point that I can receive calls from almost everywhere except for people who have Carolina West as their provider. They are still getting sent straight to voicemail when they try to call me and it still doesn’t ring or show any indication that they tried to call. I can call them no problem but they are unable to call me at all.  Has anyone else had this issue when switching providers???

I am guessing you spoke with someone in Verizon's Porting Department to get most of the problem solved.  When a port is in progress, incoming calls are still being handled by the old carrier, but outbound calls, texts, and internet access will be through the new carrier.  Once the port finalizes, everything runs through the new carrier.  The fact that only other Carolina West customers cannot call you makes me think there's something going on with Carolina West - maybe they didn't fully release your number or some database somewhere needs to be updated to show your number is now with Verizon, so calls get routed correctly.

Has anyone found a solution to this? My calls are still going straight to voicemail and my network sometimes I notice is out. It is in many places not just one place. I have even gotten a new device and it still happens. I have been to the Verizon store and did troubleshooting with the reps online.
