I will leave this provider too. I’m paying for several lines so my increase is not just $4 it is $30. We pay all taxes required and government fees and it is OK but now some one in the company decided to move on customers unforseen government charge. Why Verizon does not cover it with its savings bank account not mine…. I do not have money to cover it…honestly…I’m sorry…

Can understand your frustration because nobody likes paying more for anything, but everything has gone up in price particularly within the past 2 or so years. You must have 6 or 7 lines on your account if the $4 monthly increase is affecting you that much. Is this for a business, or is it several family members? Do the other people know you're struggling to manage the costs of the lines?
As someone who has done the porting in/out thing a few times, I will attest the competition charges pretty close to the same as Verizon, so short of going prepaid or switching to a budget carrier who is piggybacking on one or more of the "Big 3" networks, it's not really going to be much different elsewhere. Carriers are constantly offering promos to try to get people to switch, but if your service is good, it's not necessarily a good idea to leave because another carrier may not perform as well in the same area. I have had this happen to me.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Hello Tatabana, we know no one likes seeing a price increase on their account, but thanks for giving us a chance to explain. This $4.00/line per month increase is designed to help ensure Verizon is able to grow and continue investing and delivering the best experiences and network you rely on every day.
We can certainly review your account to get the best value. How does that sound?

I just paid off my 2 phones through Verizon and now my bill isn’t lower, it is higher because they decided to throw on a 27 dollar plan adjustment. Also, Verizon saying that they are charging more to give better service isn’t true because my boyfriend gets better service through AT&T than I do through Verizon. If I were you, I would consider switching.
