The software update on May 30 ruined my TV resolution. The screen is too dark and none of the HD channels are HD. The guide is nearly impossible to see. Anyone else in Virginia experiencing this?

This is not a complaint we have received from the numerous others who have received it. First start by checking all the different video settings in the boxes menu. Second you will want to adjust the TV's picture settings. As far as the HD channels not being HD, none of the changed would have effected this. Make sure your TV is on the correct HD input it needs to be on.

Try tuning to channel 600 which is CNN HD > go back and forth between it and it's SD counterpart found on channel 100. Hopefully you see a difference here.
if it looks bad, and you are using hdmi or component cables (red blue green) then you should make sure the Set top box settings are correct.
go to menu>settings>video settings
There are two main ones that affect the quality of your resolution.
First is TV Format: This is for your HD settings. make sure it's set to 1080i
Second is SD OVERRIDE and this affects your SD channels. make sure it's 480i or OFF (i prefer off)
If those settings are correct, try to find your tv remote control.
Start by finding the button that shows you display info for what you are watching, and it will tell you if it's 1080 or 720 or 480.
Then go into your Picture and color settings and begin adjusting. The set top box can only do so much, so after you have those settings mentioned above, then focus on your tv settings.
