Upgrading STB

When I began getting Verizon FIOS TV I had standard-def service.  I have a Standard STB as well as an HD/DVR box.

Since then, I have upgraded to the HD package and am able to receive HD signal, however the TV I want my DVR hooked up to is not capable of receiving HDMI and my other box obviously doesn't have HDMI ports on it.  The obvious solution is to switch the two, but I would much rather keep the DVR where it is.

My main question is, "Should I have been given an upgraded STB when I switched to HD programming, and if not, how do I go about getting an HD one?"

no, an HD box does not come with the HD programming.

All you need to do is call CS and tell them you want to exchange your SD box for an HD box. They will ship it out via UPS and you just swap them out.

But don't forget, unless you are in the NY / NNJ DMA ther will be a change in the billing to $9.99 / month for the HD STB.

Does the TV you have your DVR hooked up to have a DVI port on it.  You could use an DVI to HDMI cable.
