Has anyone been able to get a MCE PC to work with fios STB? I am able to get a picture, but channels will not change.

you will need a IR Bug or IR immiter that came with your pc/cable tuner and you may need to run the Media Center setup once that is done.

I have a IR Blaster that plugs into my USB IR Receiver that goes into my MCE PC and windows sees it and will let me setup my fios box and completes. But my windows PC will not change channels. The only way to change is with my Verizon remote on my STB. And then it will display on my Monitor/TV. But I need windows to be able to control my STB. Should the IR Blaster be plugged into somewhere else? My TV Tuner does not have a IR Port. I am wondering if the IR needs to be plugged into the tuner and that's my problem. But not sure.

Make sure you have the latest updates installed for Media Center.  If you have XP SP3, you might not get any of the Media Center updates properly with Windows update (I would not recommend XP SP3 on Media Center Edition).  If you do not have Roll-up 2, you will not get the ir blaster update.

I couldn't get the Verizon boxes to work without rollup 2 and the ir update.  I dont have the KB articles handy....but you can search for them on support.microsoft.com.

Oh and the only way to get TV on MCE without a set top box is to have the new windows 7 beta, or have the TV Pack installed on vista. It will not work with XP. But I found out that my tuner is a duel tunnr , and the one for cable TV is analog. But ATI said it would pick up qwam but never does.

Just a bit more info I have found.

I'm having a similar same issue with my QIP-6200 set-top box 😞  I have the Pinnacle PC TV To Go Wireless "tuner" (it's like a Slingbox) which can change channels fine with its own IR blaster -- I can watch (and record) with this set up but it doesn't help me to watch live TV via my iPhone 😉

So now I'm trying to get Orb (http://www.orb.com, also installed on the same box) to change the channels using a second IR blaster -- Microsoft's: http://tinyurl.com/5335jm -- Orb has a "learn IR" function which I used with the Verizon remote; however, when Orb goes to change the channel, the IR blaster blinks like crazy but the channel on the set-top box doesn't change.

So has anyone gotten this particular IR blaster (Microsoft's) to work with a Verizon set-top box? If not, I'm about to get my THIRD remote/blaster for this system just to get everything working the way I want it Smiley Tongue (which will be the http://usbuirt.com which may or may not end up working with the Pinnacle device! 😛 )

I have a similar situation.  I used to be able to change the channels through MCE in XP when I had Cablevision, now I can't do it in FIOS even after I upgraded to Vista.  Anyone has found a solution to this problem?
