Odd exchange question

So weird question. Im planning to switch back to Iphone from Samsung. Was gonna switch back to my 13 to get back into IOS, but i forgot the passcode.

In short. Could i technically trade my Samsung in for an Iphone 16, and when the 17 rolls out which should be  under the 30 day return/exchange. Exchange the 16 for the 17?

If you do a trade in for an iPhone 16, then you will be under a 36 month contract and won't be able to swap out the iPhone 16 for the 17 when the 17 releases (next month?) without breaking the contract and having to immediately pay off the full cost of the iPhone 16.  I'd wait until the 17 comes up for pre-order as I can't imagine there won't be some kind of promotion and start a contract with the 17.

If you take advantage of a promotion for the iPhone 16 after trading in your device, the trade requirements for the iPhone 17 must also be met in order for your trade promotional credits to be applied towards that device. Additionally, the iPhone 16 must be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase to exchange the device. A restocking fee of $50 (plus any applicable taxes) applies to any return or exchange of a wireless device (excluding Hawaii).
